Project 1 Inforgraphic Poster

1. Selection of an Existing Infographic

We are required to choose one poorly designed infographic poster from the internet. This poster will serve as the foundation of our redesign analysis.

Before I start my project I go to Pinterest and Google to find poorly designed poster.

After have a consultation with Mr.Fauzi I decided proceed with this poster

Fig 1.2 Selected Poster

The main issue with this infographic poster is that it contains too much information packed into a single layout. The poster presents excessive text, multiple data points, and long paragraphs all at once, which overwhelms the viewer. Because there is no clear prioritisation of content, the audience struggles to identify what is important.

I decided to narrow the scope of the infographic instead of keeping all the original content. Since the poster originally included multiple topics presented together, I selected one key topic to focus on for my redesign.

Next, I start looking for reference.

I developed the first version of my redesigned poster

My design idea is to feature an oil tanker releasing waste oil into the sea as the primary visual cue. The shape and movement of the oil spill help guide the reader’s view from the top of the poster to the key information below.

However, Mr.Fauzi mentioned that although the overall concept is strong and there are no major issues with the idea, the numbered steps (1, 2, 3, 4) arranged in a crisscross layout may not effectively guide the reader in the intended sequence. Readers might not follow the order naturally, which affects the clarity of the information flow.

He also suggested that I include a sub-headline to strengthen the message and provide clearer context for the infographic.

To address this, I decided to replace the numbers with icons, which provide clearer visual cues and guide the viewer more intuitively. This way, readers are not constrained by a strict sequence and can engage with the information in a more natural and flexible order.

Project 2 Infographic Poster (Animated)

In this project we are required to animated our poster that we did in project 1. I decided to animated my poster by using Adobe After Effect.

And this is the requirement of the animated poster.
1.Loop duration in between 15 - 30 second
2. Size: 1080 x 1920 px (Vertical Video) upload to your own Youtube channel

My idea is to animate the oil spilling from the tanker and create a continuous loop that includes the movement of the sea and marine life. This animation will visually reinforce the topic of oil pollution and make the infographic more engaging.
