TASK 1

During week 1 , MR Ron has brief us about the overall course structure and the timeline for all assignments.
The final project need us work in group, before we form a group we were ask to think our own game idea.

I'm more interested to create a platforming game , cause I enjoy playing those game. I have play hollow knights before I like the storyline, art style and also the game mechanics design. So I decide to come with Platforming game but with different mechanics and story.

I find the confrontation between two different elements very interesting, scalable and adversarial.
So I come with the first idea Ice elements vs Fire elements and a roughly storyline. After this I start to think about the game mechanics. This is the first version for the game idea.

The second idea is a maze survival game inspire by Pac-Man. But I try to combine it with the traditional game "Red Light, Green Light"

Exercise 1

After class, we were asked to practice using the subdivision surface function by creating a character or element for our game. Based on the instructions, I decided to create a cute-style pudding for my second game idea, which represents the coins that the main character will collect. Since my original game is intended to be in a pixel art style, I also used Pixelroma to create a pixel art version of the pudding.

Before I started, I went through several tutorials to learn more about Blender, including shortcut keys and the functions of different tools.

Next I started to do my own modeling .I used a cube as the base for the pudding and applied the subdivision modifier. After that, I deleted half of the vertices and applied a mirror modifier to maintain symmetry.

For the cherry modeling, I followed a YouTube tutorial. The process of creating the cherry stem involved using a Bezier curve as the base and adjusting its shape. Afterward, I converted it into a mesh so I could refine it and make it look nicer.

Exercise 2

Before the class started, we were randomly divided into different groups. In this exercise, we needed to create two game development documents. After class, we were given time for group discussion to distribute our tasks. I was assigned to design the enemies, obstacles, NPCs, and action events for Malice Alice. I also worked on the health & checkpoint system, controls, and items for another game.

Since I wasn’t familiar with the story of Alice in Wonderland, I watched the movie and studied the characters and storyline before starting my part.

This is our final game development document
