Project

In the first week, our class was introduced to the semester project, and we formed groups based on our interests. My team was assigned to develop WayangMind, a VR-based meditation experience aimed at promoting emotional healing and mindfulness. The week began with a detailed briefing session where we were introduced to the project scope. This helped aligned our understanding and help us to set a clear direction. During the data collection stage I'm more focus on doing research about the competitive in the current market and do a simple analysis.

After the data collection stage, our group started work with the user persona. Since our target audience is University Student, so our user persona is focus on Uni student that dealing with different challenges.

Next I work in the survey group. I was responsible for drafting the survey questions.

This week, we had an opportunity to visit WayangMind’s office. We got a chance to experience their VR product. Through the conversation with the team, we gained valuable insights into their design process, what they are actually targeting for.

After collecting all the data, we began analyzing the results together as a team. I focused on the survey section and spent time identifying patterns and key insights from the responses. Next we proceed to the Problem statement and the HMW stage.

Then we started preparing our early visual references and mood boards for our first presentation.

In the next step, we worked on the moodboard. After consultation and group discussions, we decided to focus our art style on a more vector-based and simplified visual approach.

Later, our team began discussing the specific direction of the project, including the choice of software, visual style, VR interaction flow, and spatial layout. We also explored how to create a calming and immersive environment that aligned with our healing concept. I took charge of designing visual materials, including motifs, logo and the microsite.

Feedback

Week 7

Specific Feedback:
  • The current mood board looks too conventional and resembles traditional wellness designs.
  • The overall style should feel younger, trendier, and more creative to appeal to a modern audience.
Week 10

Specific Feedback:
  • The presentation slides should be more concise and straightforward in delivering key information.
  • Focus on presenting the core concept and main ideas clearly, rather than overloading slides with text.
  • Visuals should support the explanation, not distract from it—use them to enhance clarity.

Week 11

Specific Feedback:
  • Revisit and refine the touchpoints to reflect a more realistic and user-centered journey.

Week 13

Specific Feedback:
  • Important to keep the same style in all designs and materials.
  • Overall style need to be consistent, if not the project might look messy or unprofessional.
  • Making a visual guide for the team to follow.
  • Layout of the microsite looks great but the color combination need to be improve.

Reflection

This project has finally come to a close. This project was a new and meaningful experience. Working on WayangMind, a healing VR meditation concept, helped us learn how to combine creativity with real-world needs. From research and moodboards to creating the final materials, each step taught us something different.

One of the biggest lessons was the importance of teamwork. Everyone had their own role, and we had to communicate well to make sure everything matched.

This project also taught me how to communicate with clients and present our ideas clearly and confidently. Through discussions and feedback sessions, I learned how to explain our design decisions, listen to suggestions, and adjust our work accordingly. This experience helped improve both my communication and presentation skills, which are essential in real-world design work.
