After the consultation with Mr.Max, he suggested choosing one design among 1, 7, 8, or 9 to digitize.

DIGITIZATION

I proceed with the digitization with Design 8

FINAL DIGITIZATION

Moving to the final digitization I made some changes to make the font look better.
I changed all the diagonal lines into stroke form, making the design more harmonized.

REFLECTIONS

Experience
I'm having fun while doing this task. Designing a new font on our own is a special experience I have never tried before. Everything is new to me on this task. I can maximize my creativity while doing this task.

Observations
Before doing our own design we are suggested to do some research about font design. From this, I'm aware that every design has its own theme and some of them are develop from different shapes or natural elements and more.

Finding
After doing this task, font is not just a simple text expression for me. I learned that in the process of creating fonts, there are a lot of rules we need to follow. The process is very interesting, from here I have the opportunity to learn more about the fonts.

Typographic design process ( pg 221)

This chapter highlights the process and its role in typographic problem-solving. A well-known model of the design process consists of five steps.
  • Defining: begins by defining the problem and its parameters, including the client’s needs, a sphere of activity, goals, objectives, audience, and budget and production limitations.
  • Gathering: provides essential information for the designer about the client, problem content, and production requirements.
  • Ideating: The worst enemy of the design process is thinking inside the box, as it limits new possibilities and stifles the open, unconventional thinking essential for innovative solutions.
  • Synthesizing: The synthesis phase narrows options and seeks closure, focusing on solutions that meet initial criteria and are aesthetically superior.
  • Realizing: Implementation requires client approval, which is facilitated by regular, clear communication without jargon to build trust and prevent misunderstandings.
